I confess – I come clean, many years ago I embarked on a clandestine love affair that I’m just unable to stop. At times we secretly meet up, other times I openly share and expose my deep love and guilty pleasure for luscious and sinfully rich chocolate. I know this is resonating with many of you. Chocolate is just one of those foods that will raise your spirits and put a smile on your face. It’s also a pure joy to bake with. There isn’t one person in my family who doesn’t love chocolate, so I enjoy creating delicious desserts and snacks for them to savor. To help me do this is my newest cookbook.

When I first get a new cookbook, I jump right to the section that stirs my heart, but with this book, I was smitten from cover to cover. The images are so vivid and mouth-watering, you can almost taste them. I love the diversity of recipes offered. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut and need a loving push to expand our culinary repertoire and this cookbook offers a variety of flavorful combinations.
One of our ultimate favorite snacks is by far chocolate chip cookies, so we eagerly poured over the cookie recipes in mesmerizing wonder. The Chocolate Chip Butterscotch Cookies are a treat that will gush forth heartfelt compliments from all who revel in the taste. These scrumptious tempters melt in your mouth and fill you up with pure happiness. They freeze beautifully so having several dozens on hand for those unexpected moments when friends drop by is ideal. The Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies are another favorite and they’re going to be the ‘treat’ at our Halloween party.
I personally never thought of using chocolate as part of a breakfast dish, but we tried a few of the recipes out, the kiddo’s adore the Strawberry Chip Moo-thie. It’s delicious and nutritious too. Although it does call for ice cream, you can substitute it for healthier choices like yogurt, a nut milk, or cottage cheese. But you know, once in a while, you have to live and indulge.
I’m a huge fan of muffins, their portion sized and portable. This cookbook features 16 saporous and heavenly recipes that work so well as a breakfast, snack, or dessert. I intend on making them all, but so far my favorites are the Chocolate Chip Pumpkin and the Chocolate Chip Eggnog Muffins. As credulous as it may seem, the stores are already carrying eggnog for early celebrators and bakers, and I profoundly thank them.
Clearly, this cookbook was created out of a passion for chocolate chips and imagination for their use. The recipes are easy to follow, made with easy to get ingredients, and produce ambrosial results. They will definitely inspire us to get into the kitchen and create these enticing treats for your family, friends, and guests. It’s a perfect fit for my cookbook collection and it would be a fabulous gift as well.
