Vegan Cookies Invade The Holiday Season

I’m always on the quest for new cookie recipes. The tricky thing is that most of the time I have to convert these recipes into a vegan version which I really don’t mind. But how nice it is to find a delicious recipe that takes all the guesswork out for you. The newest cookbook to reach my home is Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar.

This decadent cookie cookbook was created by using as many wholesome and nutrient-dense ingredients as possible without sacrificing taste. And.. What a fabulous job the author did. You are also given help on how to make your cookies gluten-free. Want to learn about which sweeteners, fats, flours, etc., are better? There’s also a section on “substituting” and “troubleshooting” so you can create a perfect product every time; it’s all explained quite nicely for you. The outcome is cookies that you and your family will crave year-round.

Vegan Cookies InvadeThe book contains 100 dairy-free recipes from cookies, bars, brownies, biscotti and more. All these yummy recipes will tickle your sweet tooth and satisfy your cravings.

We are huge cookies people and to us, it’s so much fun making and sharing them with our friends and family. This book contains so many recipes that we really love and we’ve made again and again.

Normally we look through a new recipe book and mark off the ones we are intending to make, but with this book, nearly every recipe was marked off. My family loves peanut butter and there are several heavenly ones to choose from. One of our favorites is the Peanut Butter Oatmeal cookie recipe. It’s filled with organic oats, creamy peanut butter and oodles of flax. This cookbook contains 9 different peanut butter cookie recipes, all equally blissful. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Pillows will have you begging for mercy! If you love oodles of chocolate you will enjoy the Cowboy Cookies which have lots of semi-sweet chocolate chunks. You won’t be able to resist them.

With Halloween just over I had lots of pumpkins to use up. The Pumpkin Pie Brownies are beyond tempting with its ambrosial ingredients. If you dig molasses-like I do then I would highly recommend the Coffeehouse Hermits. Their rich and spicy flavor makes them the perfect cozy snack on a cool wintery day. If you’ve got some ripe bananas that need dealing with, they would be perfect in the Banana Everything Cookies recipe. It calls for a very ripe banana, rolled oats, walnuts and chocolate chips. We substituted the walnuts for raisins for a nice change. Yum!! Some of the cookies are healthy and nourishing enough to be eaten for breakfast, and why not!!

Holiday baking is in full swing and my freezer is starting to fill up with all the wonderful cookies I’ve created from this fabulous cookbook. They definitely will not last long in the cookie jar and your family will joyfully devour them at holiday functions! It’s a time to celebrate with good food, great company, and heavenly cookies! It’s the makings of a very merry festive occasion. Happy Holidays!
