Crocheting is a super fun and productive hobby that can be addictive. It’s also easy and you can whip up so many projects quickly. I always have several ventures on the go and right now, I’m getting ready for the holiday season. Last week, I created a bunch of crocheted snowflakes to hang on the Christmas tree. This week, I wanted to create some crocheted star and wreath ornaments, and I found several free patterns that worked well for me. They’re adorable, cheerful and add so much ambience to the room.
Crocheted Lacy Star Ornaments
The Star ornament can be made with five or six corners depending on how many stitched you add to your ring. I like the five points myself and they look so pretty hanging on the tree. The good news is that you can make them in minutes and you can use up scrap yarn. The PDF below starts them off with a 2 inch plastic ring, but if you don’t have them at home, you can make your own ring. I made them both ways. If you don’t have rings, then make a chain six, join it and then add your stitches in the ring.
Christmas Wreath Ornaments
This Christmas wreath ornament is made in rows. The pattern starts you off with a chain 18, but I thought it was too big, so I changed it to a chain 8. It just depends how big of an opening you like in the center. I combined traditional Christmas color and created holly berries with some french knots. So easy! They were a lot of fun to make and look nice on the tree. I also made sets of four of each pattern and gave them away as gifts.
