250 Best Meals in a Mug
During the summer months, I find that the family will spread out and go off on their own ventures. At times, someone is home by themselves for days or even weeks. We enjoy this alone time, it means a lot less cleaning and meal making. It’s okay going for a day or two with lazy meals, but after that, I want meaningful hearty, and tasty meals. Cooking and meal creating for one person is easy, thanks to my new cookbook, 250 Best Meals in a Mug.
250 Best Meals in a Mug is a culmination of 250 delicious microwave meals. There are nine different chapters, each filled with lots of rich and appetizing recipes. There isn’t one chapter that I or one of my family members did not use and enjoy a quick treat, meal, or snack.
Summertime is not the time when we normally think about baking, it’s hot and the last thing we want is to generate more heat in the home. Cooking with the microwave has an abundance of advantages, it’s time saving and quick, less energy use, your home stays cooler, less mess to clean up, and foods stay in the same dish or mug so it’s staying warm. I love the idea of combining your own healthy ingredients and cooking it in a mug, how convenient and smart is that!
The front cover of the book is enough to entice you into its pages. There are lots of vibrant and tempting colorful images that will inspire you to try out the recipe. The onset of this cookbook will guide you on microwave wattage and settings because it’s quite a bit different from cooking in the oven. You’ll be advised on the types and sizes of mugs to use, and what to stock your pantry with.
Although the whole book is uncomplicated and easy to use, the first chapter Super-Fast, Cheap and Easy Recipes, is by far the simplest, each recipe contains only 4 ingredients or less. The instructions are easy to follow and understandable, even some kids can make their own meal. There are tips and prep ahead options that will make your meal making a snap. My family loves the Hearty Hash Brown Mug and the Cheese Fondue recipes in this chapter.
I love the Meatless Main Dish section of the book, I resonated with a few of the recipes. I adore chickpeas and the Chickpea Potato Masala is scrumptious. If you like curry, then this recipe will make you so happy. Another chickpea recipe I really love is the Spinach, Chickpea, and Feta Pasta in the Pastas and Grains chapter. To me, pasta and grains are comfort foods, but can take time to prepare. These recipes will give you that comfort and convenience, they’re superb for those who are pressed for time.
I can’t of a recipe book we’ve had so much fun using. The variety of choices will fulfill everyone’s taste buds. The recipes are delicious, healthy, hassle-free and uber quick to make. Summer is a time for mellowing out and spending more time in nature and less time in the kitchen, this book will allow you the best of both worlds!
