the 5-Minute Facial Workout
As we age our muscles and skin sag because of collagen and elastin lose, this includes every muscle from head to toe. We’ve become resourceful and quite clever at hiding most of our loose and languid muscles with clothes, but our face is visibly exposed for all to see.
We can take our bodies to the gym to whip it back into shape, but what about our face? Are we at the mercy of the endless infomercials that promise the fountain of youth in the newest lotion or potion, or the latest gadget? Or are we considering more evasive measures like a procedure? Before we get to that point, there’s hope, there’s a way to reclaim our youthful appearance.
The 5-Minute Facial Workout offers us 30 exercises that can bring back our fresh and innocent glow naturally. Many of us believe ‘workout’ is a bad word and only bad people use it!! Not so, these workouts are actually fun. These uber easy exercises are for the neglected faces of both women and men. Our facial muscles need a workout too if we want to maintain tone, shape and a healthy radiance. I honestly had no idea there were exercises for our face. Why not our face? There are oodles of tiny muscles that are begging for a workout!
So what do you have to work on? Hollow cheekbones? Sagging jowls? Crowsfeet? Droopy eyelids? Wrinkly forehead? Or how about that flabby turkey neck? This is probably a position most of us find ourselves feeling condemned with. But, there’s a solution! The 5-Minute Facial Workout offers us a lifetime membership to facial gymnastics that you can do in the seclusion of your home. We can win the battle against gravity!
The book starts off with explaining the Fundamentals of Facial Gymnastics. Did you know that our muscles can loosen or stretch up to 50%? I don’t know about you, but my cheek muscles are already dangerously low and I’m ready to pump up the volume. The exercises presented are designed to maintain, correct, and redefine a muscular shape. With a little bit of dedication and practice, you’ll produce some subtle to amazing results. You will learn the locations and principles of all the muscles of your face and neck.
Chapter Two talks about Facial Gymnastics: How? They will share their knowledge about the three layers of the skin and what can cause damage to each. Free radicals are the main culprit to aging and antioxidants can quickly fight against them. Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Omega-3 and Omega-6 are the essential supplements our bodies need.
Chapter Three gets into the program and shares that it’s not an exact science. Everyone’s skin is unique and exposed to different conditions. Some may see results quickly, while others may take several weeks longer. Each exercise can be adapted to your needs or you may need to use your fingertips to help you do the movements or locate a specific muscle. Go at your own pace, if you feel pain or strain, they suggest you space out your program out.
Chapter Four gets right into the exercises. Each exercise will show you which muscles you will be working on and the procedure to rebuild, reshape and return it back to its youthful contour. Each of the 30 exercises will cover one muscle with the exception of the last one, it works the entire face.
Chapter Five offers us pinches and massage techniques that will enhance our efforts. Massaging stimulates microcirculation, helps drain small lymphatic vessels, relieves tension and brightens the complexion.
After doing some of the exercises for a few weeks, I felt the typical pain of working a forgotten muscle. Clearly, the exercises are hitting their target muscle. I have noticed some subtle changes that have encouraged me to continue with my program. It only takes about 10 or so minutes every day to get through my routine. I think our faces deserves this time. Reversing the clock is up to us and thankfully this book is here to guide us.
