Juicing is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your body. Most of the vital nutrients we need in our diet are found in raw fruits and vegetables. When fruits and vegetables are juiced, they are ten times more nutrient-rich. So, when you drink freshly made juice, you’re absorbing highly concentrated amounts of vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants, and minerals. And, because there is no fiber to digest, these nutrients enter the bloodstream rapidly. One of my favorites is Beet and Celery Juice.
Individually each fruit and vegetable have their own attributes, but when combined, they can be a powerhouse, a super-drink. Depending on my mood or cravings, I’ll fuse several ingredients together and create a delicious and revitalizing drink.
Benefits of Beets
I love the color of the beets. The deep rich red and burgundy glow is eye-appealing and a natural food dye. Beyond its beauty, the beet has a plethora of potent, health-enhancing components that many might not be aware of. The Beet is deemed a ‘superb veggie’! They are high in immune-boosting vitamin C, fiber, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc, vitamin A, iron, calcium, and vitamin B folate. Beets aids in lowering blood pressure, improving cardiovascular health, purifying the bloodstream, boost your stamina, and are loaded with anti-cancer properties. Beets also ward off osteoporosis by boosting bone strength, strengthen our immune system by stimulating the production of antibodies and white blood cells, and fight Alzheimer’s Disease.
Benefits of Celery
Celery juice is one of the most powerful healing juices that we can drink daily to flush out toxins. One of the most noticeable attributes of celery is that it contains an exceptionally high percentage of vital organic sodium. Celery is an alkalizing food with a high water content; it’s rich in vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin A, iron, folate, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It helps to purify the bloodstream, reduces blood pressure, aids in digestion, cleanses the colon, improves arthritis, anemia, asthma, skin problems, eye health, and can counteract acidosis. Celery contains coumarins which enhance white blood cells and the vascular system, so it helps with your blood flow. It significantly aids in detoxifying the body, it’s a natural diuretic, and can dislodge calcium deposits.
Combining these two healthy vegetables will nourish your body and do some house cleaning as well. Most of the foods we eat are nutrient deficient, so having fresh juice every morning will replenish our needs. Juice made from fresh organic produce will promote health and balance in your mind, body, and spirit.
