What I don’t care for, is Christmas shopping. Having to swim your way through crowded stores and drive all over town trying to find a specific item, is exhausting. We have always wanted a PVR, and Best Buy offered such a great deal on the Gateway HDPVR, we couldn’t resist. This device offers lots of cool features that make TV viewing more enjoyable and time-saving. With a PVR, you record on a digital hard drive, so you won’t have a deluge of DVD’s hanging around. I love this feature; it’s cost efficient, environmentally friendly, and you can store or erase any recorded program.

You can record up to six high-def shows at once, connect up to six portals, have instant access to over 10,000 show titles, zip through commercials, replay your favorite scenes, pause shows, record a weekly series, and customize your favorites list. Another really awesome feature is that while watching live TV, you can pause, go back 15 minutes, skip forward 30 seconds,  and replay. Sound complicate? Not really, this PVR is really easy to use and program. I have several shows I like to record each week, and it’s fabulous that I can now jump past the parts I don’t want to view and then decide if I want to keep or delete it. The guide and menu take a little getting used to, but the process is enjoyable. The Gateway PVR is a must-have for every home and would make a great family gift.
