Breville Citrus Press
My mother is an appliance junky. She’ll pick up the latest and greatest gadgets that promise you the performance of a lifetime. The problem is they don’t live up to their huff and puff, and they just happen to break after the warranty expires. For me, I prefer trusted brand names like Breville. Breville manufactures high-quality small appliances that outperform and outlast their competitors. I confess I have coveted all their products for a long time.
I was thrilled to welcome the Breville Citrus Press into my kitchen. I make fresh juice every morning with a standard manual juicer; I like to mix a lemon, orange, and grapefruit together. It’s not only messy, but I can never squeeze hard enough to get all the juice out of the fruits. Plus manual juicers do not accommodate for larger fruits like grapefruit, so I end up with a lot of waste.
The Breville Citrus Press is huge; I don’t think I’ve ever seen a citrus juicer this big. When I saw the size of the components, it was obvious it would juice all size fruit, from limes to the largest grapefruit.
It comes with a fruit dome that covers the surface of the fruit and is attached magnetically to the handle so it can be removed easily for cleaning. The juice cone is the base where you place your fruit; it extracts the maximum juice from all sizes of citrus fruits. The juice filter catches the pulp and seeds, and the juice spout tray is collectively the reservoir and pouring lip.
To use the Citrus Press, turn the switch on that’s at the back of the machine. I actually like this feature; it prevents little children from turning the machine on in error. Place your fruit on the cone, gently press the handle down, and you’ll have fresh juice pouring straight into your glass in seconds. After pouring, clip up the drip stop spout to prevent any drips. There are only a few points to be aware of when juicing; first, you can only press for a maximum of ten seconds, and secondly, if the fruit has a nipple on the end of it, you’ll need to cut it off, so the fruit has a flatter surface.
I was impressed with not only the volume of juice provided but how quiet the machine is. This BPA free unit comes apart easily, and all removable parts are dishwasher safe. Its sleek stainless finish is appealing, easy to clean, and will blend in with any kitchen decor.
I enjoy using the Breville Citrus Press. I get more juice, less mess, and no waste. If you or your mom are looking for higher-end appliances, then Breville is a great choice. Swing by their site and check out all their products. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, you can’t go wrong with a Breville appliance. She’ll love you forever!
