Brother P-Touch D-200 Labeler
Why is it that at the beginning of the year we feel the urge to purge, to clean up and get organized? It’s not like we can’t do this throughout the year, but there’s something about a fresh start every January 1 isn’t there? I’m not any different and this month I’m going through all my ‘stuff’ and deciding what needs to go and what needs to be systematically arranged so I have some sort of harmony in my home. I have oodles of bins and boxes full of things that I’m unaware of because they are not labeled. What a coincidence that I got a Brother P-Touch Label Maker to help me start 2014 off efficiently.
The Brother P-Touch D200 is the cutest little labeler and it comes with everything you need to get started; included are batteries, an extra tape cassette, and instructions so you can get right to business. The batteries and cartridge are extremely easy to put in the back of the device. Personally, I love the idea of using batteries, it makes the printer totally portable. Adapters are available if you prefer.
This device is easy to use and creates a label in seconds. You simply turn the P-Touch on and make your selections with the one-touch keys. The graphical display screen is quite large, so viewing is no problem. You can choose from oodles of different styles, widths, and sizes of fonts. Plus you have the option of 8 fonts, 95 frames, and more than 600 to choose from. Each label will be a one of a kind work of art. You’ll never run out of ideas or inspiration.
Want a snazzy label; how about using a special frame, making it chic and unique. Just scroll through the different frames and choose the one that feels right for your label by pressing the OK button. Or, if you want more excitement, you can add little images or pictographs. There is also the option to select different ready-made layouts by pressing the Deco Mode key. When you’re finished with all your selections and want to see what it looks like before you print it, hit the preview button. If you like it press the print key; you’ll next be prompted to select how many labels you want and press the print button again. You can also choose your margin settings and alter the label length. Now you can watch your creation come to life. Press the scissor button on the right and you’re done. We had a blast creating different labels and when work becomes fun, it gets done lickety-split. Perhaps I’m a little too label happy right now.
You can store up to 30 of your favorite labels in the memory so reprinting is a breeze. The Tze tape comes in various sizes from 3.5 mm to 12 mm and is laminated so it will last a long time. They also come is a plethora of colors so you even color coordinate your items. The labels are clear and affix easily to anything you stick them to. So far I’ve only tried them indoors, but apparently, they will work outdoors. My craft room has never been more organized, my next project is my garage this spring. Organizing has never been so much fun.
