Chinese Chi Balls, Revitalize Your Energy
Chi is our life force. It’s what keeps us alive and vibrant. The less chi or qi you have, the older and infirm you become. There are several exercises or disciplines you can do, like Tai Chi or Qi Gong that will rebuild and store your gi. I personally do Qi Gong every day and enjoy feeling the layers of energy around my body. You can also use Chinese Chi Balls to get your chi flowing. They might also be called Exercise Balls, Meridian Balls, or Baoding Balls. In China, they are referred to as Bao Djian Tshou, which means, ‘health ball’ or Baici, which means ‘valuable ball’. I’ve heard of them but never used them until I recently received a set.
The Chinese Chi Balls is a kit that includes two silver therapeutic energy balls encased in a gold satin drawstring bag. There’s also a 176-page manual that shares instructions, simple exercises and treatments.
The book goes into the Elements and Meridians. You need to have a basic knowledge of how these work together in order to use the Chi Balls effectively. They have black and white images that show where all the meridian are on the body. They also discuss acupuncture points, acupressure, and reflexology points.
The next section goes into choosing your Chi Balls. They can be made out of metal, wood, and stone. I received metal balls that chime; as you use them they sound off a subtle tone. But, you can get them without tones if your sound sensitive. They also come in different sizes and weights. Generally, the larger and heavier they are, the stronger the effect on the acupuncture points and reflex zones. They recommend you start with a smaller size. You can also progress from using two balls up to three or four balls at one time.
The last section shows all the exercises for both two and three balls. It also shares how they affect your hands and feet. They are simple yet effective routines that will release chi blockages and improve your physical and spiritual health. I found them quite relaxing, soothing, and fun to use. The kit is portable so you can take them anywhere.
