Our skin is the largest organ of our body and is composed of three layers, the epidermis, the dermis, and the hypodermis. The epidermis is the outermost layer and it’s highly porous so it absorbs everything you put on it. The market is busting at the seams with skincare products that contain harsh additives like petroleum-derived ingredients that are harmful. Our skin quickly soaks them up and they end up in our bloodstream causing a toxic effect we may not even be aware of. Our cells and organs are bombarded and suffocated with these toxins which can have a detrimental effect on our health. Cocoon Apothecary is here to help.
One way to avoid absorbing noxious and harmful ingredients is to only use pure organic products. Cocoon Apothecary has developed a beautiful skincare line that is 100% organic. This company cheerfully surrenders to and lovingly embraces old-school ideals of natural skincare. They believe in using plant oils, waters, butters and extracts to create nourishing and rejuvenating products that give us that natural healthy glow we all desire. All of their products are:
*Cruelty-free and vegan
*Made with certified organics
*Amber glass bottle, plant-based label
*Safe and non-toxic
Every good skincare regime requires the use of a trustworthy trio, a cleanser, a toner and a moisturizer. Cocoon Apothecary has skincare sets for normal to dry skin, normal to oily skin and a Starter Kit. I got to test drive the Starter Kit which includes travel size (20 ml) bottles of their Petal Purity Facial Cleanser, Rose Dew Facial Toner and Rosey Cheeks Facial Cream for normal to dry skin.
This set has a lovely scent that is aromatically intoxicating. I love pleasant fragrances and this terrific threesome has the lingering essence of roses that is so engaging to your senses. The cleanser has the extracts of lavender and geranium mingled with coconut and almond to give us a deep cleaning formula. I love this cleanser. My skin felt squeaky clean yet refreshingly smooth. The toner is alcohol-free and uses hydrosols of roses and witch hazel to calm our skin. It’s a cute little spray bottle that you spritz your skin with. It’s cool and nicely revitalizing. The moisturizer is brimming with vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids that rejuvenate our skin and give it a more youthful appearance. I really liked how soft and velvety my skin felt. My skin definitely had a nice healthier appearance to it. This set is great for traveling, it will last about two weeks.
Another product I tried is the Ancient Mud Facial Mask. Its ingredients include rose essential oil, neroli essential oil, Dead Sea mud, and glacial marine clay. It smells divine. Neroli oil is one of my favorite scents, it’s a light fragrance which comes from the white blossoms of a bitter orange tree. It’s highly used for its aromatic properties and it’s also used to diminish scars and stretch marks. I love this oil so I was happy to see it as an ingredient.
The purpose of the Ancient Mud is to detoxify your skin. It will go deep into your pores and gently draw out impurities, toxins, and pollutants our skin is besieged with daily.
*Revitalizes and renews skin.
*Detoxifies and purifies pores of toxins and pollutants.
*Tightens skin and reduces pore size.
*Exfoliates dead skin cells and debris.
I loved how easy this product is to use. You simply apply it to your moist skin and leave it on until it turns a light green. My skin looks so much brighter after each use because it’s so effective at exfoliating rough dry skin. It really cleans so well and evens out your skin tone. Your skin will be the smoothest it’s ever been in years.
