Cozy and Festive Decor for the Holidays!
Even though it’s only October, department stores are already bringing in some holiday items like gift wrap, bows, Christmas cards and cute gift ideas. Right now more than ever, we are all in need of some good cheer, so looking forward to the holiday season will spark some festive joy in everyone’s heart.

Crafters are especially eager about the Christmas season. Most of us make our own gifts and holiday decor so getting an early start is important. It all starts with an abundance of adorable holiday-inspired patterns and I always look to the skilled designers on Etsy for inspiration. I’m blown away by the gorgeous creations these talented global artists have created for our use. I found so many charming patterns for the holidays that will motivate crafters to create new Christmas decor and gifts for their homes. Here are some of my favorites!
Christmas Stockings from Made By Mary
Hanging Christmas stockings on your mantle, bedpost, bookcase, coatrack, stairwell, or wherever every year, is a huge part of our holiday traditions. Back in the day, these stockings started out as basic socks and some people still prefer the nostalgic vibe. But now there are far more eclectic and festive ideas that offer a trendier feel with lots of character. Made by Mary has created some adorable holidays stockings that are festive, enchanting, and loaded with tons of character. I love them!

This year spruce up your home with some handmade crocheted Christmas Stockings that you can enjoy year after year. Made by Mary has created nine 3D Christmas stockings that you can personalize for friends and family with their favorite colors and holiday characters. These include a Snowman, Reindeer, Santa, Penguin, Mrs. Claus, Nutcracker, Gingerbread Man, Holiday Mouse, and an Elf. Kids and adults alike will enjoy these cheerful stockings, so let’s create some new holiday traditions this year!

Snowman & Christmas Tree from KnitAMiracle
Kids love to play in the snow, pack it down and make their own version of a rotund snowman. The holidays would not be the same without a cheerful snowman. Meet Kevin, the Snowman and his special Christmas Tree! This charming little amigurumi snowman is sure to melt your heart and put a smile on everyone’s face this holiday season. Plus, it’s said he brings good fortune to your home!
Although we cannot bring them into the home, we can create this crocheted snowman by Nelly from KnitAMiracle on Etsy. Kevin is approximately 18 cm from head to toe (7″) and approximately 20 cm (7.8″) with the hat on. The Christmas tree is 23 cm (9″) tall. I love his plump little shape and sweet countenance. You can almost hear him laugh!
Display on a mantle near a warm and cozy fireplace, or at the entrance of your home. Outfitted with a decorative vest, mitts, cozy scarf and a swanky hat, this little snowman is ready to celebrate the holidays with you and your family. So grab your yarn and hook, get comfortable and enjoy making Kevin the Snowman.
