Crazy Sexy Kitchen Cookbook
With the new year just weeks away, some of us are already determining our resolutions. I’m sure it won’t surprise you when I say that weight loss is number one on most people’s lists. Some are redoing the same old diets and fitness programs, but some may venture out and test drive a new spring of wellness. Vegetarian and vegan diets are fast becoming popular because of their vibrant ingredient.
A plant-based diet is focused on whole and unrefined plants, fruits, veggies, tubers, whole grains, and legumes. The more raw, the more enzymes, nutrients, minerals and vitamins your ingest. If you’re new to the idea of eating a plant-based diet, I’d like you to test the waters with my newest book, Crazy Sexy Kitchen.
Chris Karr and Chef Chad Sarno have created a wellness warrior manual with this New York bestseller.
Crazy Sexy Kitchen features 150 plant-empowered recipes that will ignite your taste buds, inspire you to make the change, improve your body, and increase your energy. The benefits of a plant-based diet are exciting and encouraging: glowing skin, sparkling eye, strong, shiny hair & nails, a rockin’ immune system, better poops, strong bones, lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, balanced blood sugars, clear sinuses and oh so much more.
The biggest question I get asked all the time is, where do you get your proteins? Seriously, do we have to have the protein talk again? A complete protein contains all 8 amino acids (9 for children), and you can get these from a variety of plant foods. Spinach has 5.3 grams of protein per cup, 1/2 cup of broccoli has 1.86 grams of protein, do you see where I’m going here? As long as you eat a wide selection of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and nuts, you’ll be fine.
The book gently guides you along the plant-empowered diet path with oodles of how to tips and even a chapter devoted to what tools and culinary helper you’ll need in your kitchen.
Starting this new avenue of eating is quite easy, you don’t have to go cold turkey, just approach it one meal at a time. This will be a snap with the delicious recipes they’re offering. Each recipe is labeled with specific symbols for easy reference, for instance, their Q means it’s quick to make, the GF means Gluten Free, and there are several more.
I’ve never seen so many colorful and dynamic images and many of them will surprise you. The French Toast with Amaretto Creme is easy to make, tastes divine and you don’t feel like you’re deprived or missing out on a yummy meal. Another favorite is their Chopped Salad, I really dig chickpeas, and this recipe is loaded with them. OMGosh, if you like horseradish and beets, then you will adore the Slow Roasted Beets with Fresh Horseradish, it’s sublime! All the recipes are nutritious, delicious and health empowering. This book is a must-have for anyone wanting to improve their well being. We love and appreciate it for being a healthy eating resource. HaPpY HeAlThY HoLiDaYs!
