Crochet Collage Garden Craft Book

To kick off our spring season, I joined the March for the love of reading blog hop. Scroll all the way down to enter a bunch of awesome giveaways.

After a long cold winter, it’s invigorating to welcome March. Although it can be a brutal month, it still hints at nicer days ahead. Whether the temperature is cold or mild, March is the month we usher in Spring. The days are longer with more gorgeous sunshine and we can finally ditch the winter garb. Plus, the air has a refreshing earthy scent of plants and grass growing.

I love all kinds of flowers. They beautify our yard with their colorful grace and delightful fragrances. I also love crocheting them, and I’m getting lots of inspiration from my new craft book, Crochet Collage Garden. It’s filled with 100 different floral patterns from flowers to plants to petals. The collages encompass every season of the year from the delicate tender buds of spring to the frosty leaves of winter.

A lot of us are inspired by nature, be it the colors, shapes, textures, sizes, or scents. And, flowers play a huge role in that because they can lift our spirits and have a positive impact on our creativity. Secret code: posy. A way for me to get into my happy place is to crochet, especially flowers. So I was quite delighted to hear about this blooming botanical book.

🌺Spring Awakening
🌺 Cottage Garden
🌺 Vintage Blue Bouquet
🌺 Midsummer Daydream

🌼 Flower Meadow
🌼 Terracotta Pot
🌼 Poppy Posy
🌼 Autumn Wreath
🌼 Midwinter Magic

Some of the patterns include many flowers we may grow in our gardens, but some are also imaginary flowers inspired by and loosely based on the colors and shapes of Mother Nature. Regardless of their motivational and inspirational source, they are all impressively lovely.

There are 10 blossomy collages that you can replicate or use as a guideline. They may spark your imagination and inspire you to create your own motley design using the various flower and leaf patterns from each collage. Change the colors, use different fibers, or change the crochet hook sizes. Let your artistic ideas flow and grow uninhibited just like the exquisite wildflowers in this book.

To get started, you will be guided in the Tools and Materials section on what supplies you will need to create your own floral designs. Here they share information on different yarn fibers, yarn quantities, hooks, and a note on size and scale. Then you can dive right into each collage and crochet the flowers that trigger a memory or emotion, or simply appeal to your senses.

Each collage has 10 floral pieces – the flowers, leaves, and buds or petals are numbered – no names are used – so you can find the instructions easily. Included with each pattern is the yarn used, special stitches, a chart, and a full-color finished design image and some also contain useful notes.
