Disney, Peanuts & Star Wars Classic Crochet Kits
Growing up, we did a lot of crafts. My mom had a yarn store, so I learned to get creative with yarn at an early age. I think there will always be an interest in creating handmade products. Knitting and crocheting are hot crafts, and I see more and more kids wanting to learn these skills. One of the things I loved making was adorable doll characters and toys. There were no craft kits per se growing up, just pattern books. Today, things are really rocking in the crochet world with the creation of hobby kits where all our project needs are supplied.
I received three awesome crochet kits from ThunderBay Press. Each kit will allow you to make several of your very favorite cartoon or movie characters. Oh my gosh, they are so cute and lots of fun to make.
Each kit has a pattern book with instructions to create twelve different characters. The instructions are awesome, with step by step directions that include photos.
Disney Crochet Kit – Makes Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck!
There is enough yarn and specific supplies to create two or more of the adorable figures featured in each book. The sets of eyes provided are safety eyes, so the kiddo’s cannot remove them. Just a note: the yarn is sports weight, so the characters are fairly small. If you would like bigger figures, use worsted weight yarn.
The Disney pattern book includes Minnie, Daisy Duck, Dumbo, Jiminy Cricket, Bambi, Goofy, Pluto, Lady, Pinocchio, and even Chip and Dale.
Star Wars Crochet Kit – MakeYoda and a Stormtrooper!
I admit that I’m a kid at heart and I enjoy making these characters. The kiddo’s love playing with anything even remotely related to Star Wars.
I created the Stormtrooper and as you can see, he’s been captured by a Wookie (my cat), and not happy about it. The Star Wars book also has patterns for C3PO, Princess Leia, Wicket the Ewok, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Jabba the Hutt.
Peanuts Crochet Kit – Make Charlie Brown, Snoopy & Woodstock!
Charlie Brown and Snoopy bring back a lot of fond childhood memories. The bashful boy and the charismatic dog have captured the hearts of the young and old alike. They are timeless characters, and now you can create your own set of the Peanuts gang. Patterns also included in the Peanuts book are for Linus, Franklin, Lucy, Sally, Peppermint Patty, Pigpen, Flying Ace Snoopy, Schroeder, and Marcie. There is also bonus instructions on creating Snoopy’s Dog House.
Doing crafts with the kids creates warm and cozy impressions and memories. It also allows them to explore textures, improve agility, and expand their imagination. We love crocheting in our home and will continue to create more of these cherished critters.
