The holiday season is here and many of us are eagerly digging out the stored boxes of Christmas decorations we bring out year after year. We reminisce and take pleasure in separating the ornaments that go on the tree, hang on the wall, and sit in cubbyholes and on our mantel. But, if you are like me, you’re into DIY projects and enjoy making new ornaments every year to add to your holiday collection.
I’m addicted to crocheting, so I look for holiday patterns on Etsy. There is an abundance of talented global designers that have created the most adorable festive toys, ornaments, and decor. And, I’ve been inspired by many of them. If it wasn’t for these gifted designers, my holiday season would not be as decorative. Their patterns are not only enchanting, but they’re also fun to make. Here are some of my very favorites!
Folklore says that these rotund little Gnomes are nature spirits who will protect you and bring prosperity to your home. I first noticed gnomes on the holiday scene several years ago and now I see them everywhere. Are they a trend or will they return every Christmas? I think they are here to stay! Everyone adores these little guys and wants them in their homes. Me too! I found lots of awesome gnome patterns on Etsy, but one that I just had to have was created by Anastasia from PinetkiShop on Etsy! Her darling pattern has two lovable Christmas Gnomes and I’m going to thoroughly enjoy making them.
This amigurumi crochet pattern comes with two precious gnomes. Each has its own endearing features – one with a Santa hat and a braided beard and the other little gnome has a modified aviator-inspired hat and a free-flowing beard. I love their chubby tummies, tiny feet, and big schnozzes! How can you not love them? They would look great hanging from your tree, on top of the fireplace, or as stocking stuffers. Make lots of them and give them as gifts as well. The pattern has easy-to-follow written instructions and is beautifully designed with photo tutorials. Right now this Christmas Gnome pattern is on sale for 30% off!
This holiday season we cannot forget about the babies in our lives. This sweet Little Reindeer Baby Rattle created by Miranda from ZaykaMiAmurgurimi on Etsy, is the perfect gift for newborns to babies a year old. Rattles are interactive toys that are great for teething, making noise, and helping babies develop fine motor skills.
If you are having a baby this winter or know someone who is, then let’s keep it festive. Give the gift of a festive little Red-nosed Reindeer Rattle. With a bright shiny red nose, tiny little antlers, and captivating face, this reindeer is ready to add joy to a baby’s world. The pattern is well laid out with clear instructions and step-by-step visual tutorials. Oh, what fun it is to crochet holiday gifts!
There is nothing like hanging around a well-decorated Christmas tree to put you in the holiday spirit. Of course, we have our favorite tree decorations, but if you are like me, you always want to add new ones every year. This year I found this sweet little holiday ornament by Tatyana from KnittoyWorld on Etsy. This festive Tree & Bull Ornament will capture the hearts of family and friends.
I was immediately attracted to this pattern; I love the bull’s cute little face! And, I appreciate all the detail that went into making this pattern. Tatyana made it very simple for us to recreate this holiday ornament with easy-to-understand written instructions and step-by-step visual guides. This holiday season, elevate your home decor with the Tree & Bull ornament. I will be adorning my tree with this enchanting ornament. If you like this pattern as well, right now it’s on sale for 40% off!
