Crystals for Healing
With the advancement of New Age healing modalities, more people are getting comfortable with holistic and integrative approaches to wellness. There is an abundance of energy techniques and procedures, if you will, that can have a dramatic and positive effect on our health. And all of these modalities can be enhanced with healing tools like crystals.
Crystals come in all shapes, sizes and colors, with each having its own unique and different characteristics. You can get them tumbled, geodes, and raw form. Plus they are available in numerous shapes, pyramid, orb, heart, wand, and more. I’ve always been fascinated with crystals, but never took into account the effectiveness of their shapes. Crystal wands, for instance, have dual ends that can be used for multiple purposes as I’ll share below.
Crystal Wands
For Massage Therapy, Reflexology, and Energy Medicine
The book Crystal Wands shares how using crystal wands in massage work and reflexology can bestow wellness and good health to those who use them. They can also be used on their own, without other modalities. Crystal wand dual ends or double terminated allow for more uses — the pointed end can be used to balance, cleanse, energize, absorb negative energy, target meridians and acupressure points. The rounded end can be used similarly to a crystal sphere that works on knots and larger areas with great results.
Throughout the book, you’ll learn about 70 different crystals wands and explore their healing properties. Picasso marble, for example, helps us stay true to ourselves and to recognize what is essential. It also detoxifies the connective tissue, helps reduce water retention, and strengthens bones.
The book starts off with the basics, from the foundational set of three crystals wands you’ll need to kickstart your toolbox to form and aesthetics to how crystal therapy works. The author has the crystal broken up into three groups according to their energy qualities — Activating, Neutral, and Balancing. You’ll also learn how to disinfect and energetically cleanse your crystals after each use. There’s a whole chapter on massage techniques with crystals wand followed by six treatment programs to get you started. The book is very informative and provides step-by-step instructions on how to use the crystals featured successfully.
Crystal Healing of the Heart
Gemstone Therapy for Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Well-Being
Our heart is more than a life-sustaining organ. It’s the center of both physical and spiritual life. Our heart exposes our strengths and weaknesses, our likes and dislikes, our joy, or sadness. It can be hurt, so we must guard our hearts. How many times have we heard the phrases; he’s got a big heart, a heart of gold, she’s after my own heart, my heart is set on it, my heart goes out, his hearts in the right place, I didn’t have the heart, she’s young at heart, or what a heartthrob. The heart is a very important factor in our life, but it extends outwards as well.
The Crystal Healing for the Heart has been consciously written to take you through several steps on your journey to wholeheartedness. There are seven modules and each one is customized to heal a certain aspect of the heart. Each module is built upon the other so there is a natural flow of healing. You’ll also find in each chapter all the gemstone details along with a few hands-on exercises and meditations to practice.
The book covers 60 different gemstones and minerals that are specific heart healing stones. Plus it covers the four chambers of the heart and how they are related to the four elements, earth, wind, fire, and water. A clear picture of what each crystal looks like is provided along with a few demonstration photos. The latter part of the book shares how to choose, clean, and charge your crystals after each use.
I found both books enlightening. Crystals are more than just pretty stones, they have energy and can influence and enhance our healing process. These books will not only help you develop an appreciation for the mineral kingdom, but guide you on their proper use.
The Seven Archetypal Stones
Their Spiritual Power and Teachings
You may have a collection of various crystals and are eager to learn how to use them to expand your knowledge and healing potential. The Seven Archetypal Stones is for those seeking this expansion. The focus is on two main varieties of crystals – the explicate and implicate archetypes. The seven essential crystals are featured, include Emerald, Jade, Quartz, Amethyst, Obsidian, Lapis Lazuli, and Diamond. These seven crystals were specifically chosen for the transparency of their messages and the positive effect they have on those who choose to work with them. Exploring their healing and spiritual properties can heighten our sensitivity to them and help reveal what spiritual path you should explore.
The beginning of each chapter opens with each gemstone archetype along with some lore and one or more exercise or meditation. It continues with therapeutic and practical application in crystal healing and provides a list of several versions of the featured stone. Examples of the different Obsidian stones are, apache tears, rainbow, snowflake, and golden and silver sheen to name a few. Emerald is my favorite stone and I read that it awakens the presence of the Goddess in all of us.
Crystals are revered as some of the most important tools for spiritual development. Many ancient cultures used these gemstones to get empowered and to heal. It’s now up to us to connect with the crystals in our toolbox and learn to use them for our personal healing.
