Classic Fairy Tales for Kids
Once upon a time in a land far, far away, there lived… Most of us grew up with a collection of classic fairytales that were written centuries ago but still entertain children to this day. They sparked our young imaginations and took us to places where only magic folk dare to venture. We were captivated by the settings, enchanted with the characters and mesmerized by the moral of the story. Classic fairy tales just never get old.
Today, you’ll find your favorite classic fairy tales have been published in many different version over the years so that the next generation can read them. Some are simplified so that toddlers can enjoy the experience of becoming one with an alluring tale. A few of my families very favorite fairy tales include Pinnochio and The Three Little Pigs. DK Books has created board books featuring these two titles and they are enchanting.
The Three Little Pigs
What child wouldn’t love a board book about three pudgy porkers who are kind-hearted with cheerful spirits? The three little pigs are at the age now where they set off and live in a home of their own. They were warned by their parents to watch out for the Big Bad Wolf. It’s interesting that in this version, one of the piggies is a girl.
The classic phrases are still included —I’ll huff and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house down… and Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin. The words are large print, the graphics are colorful and engaging and children will a lot from this story. The book is a little big but fits nicely on a child’s lap. The pages are easy for little fingers to turn.
Pinocchio
Pinocchio is a story about a little wooden doll that wanted to become a real boy. As kids, we became fond of this little puppet who had to learn many lessons the hard way. He was a naughty puppet who didn’t do what he was told to do. And every time he lied, his nose grew. It gets worse, he also grew donkey ears.
Children will be enamored with Pinocchio and go through the growing pains with him. The graphics are beautiful and will capture kids attention. This classic fairy tale is perfect for a family library.
