Fujifilm SP-1 Instax Share Wireless Printer #MyInstax #MyFujiFilm

Getting together with family and friends is a great opportunity for us to create those precious lifelong memories. I love to capture these special moments with photos so I can forever be reminded of the occasion. Looking back at the photos days, months, or years later, will stir up heartfelt emotions and endearing thoughts. They always make me smile or bring a sentimental tear to my eye. Photos are truly priceless!

Nowadays photos are stored digitally on SD cards and camera rolls. Whether your photos are captured using a smartphone or Fujifilm camera, you still need to develop hard copies at a photoshop or spend a fortune printing them at home. Now there is a simpler way with the Fujifilm Instax SHARE SP-1 Wireless Printer.

Fujifilm Instax SHARE SP-1 Wireless Printer

Decades ago my parents had a camera that developed instant pictures and it was awesome to see a photo develop right before your eyes. Gosh, those were the good ole’ days, and I totally forgot about instant photos until I got the Fujifilm Instax SHARE SP-1 Wireless Printer.

The Instax Share printer is a cute little wireless device that uses film. It’s sleek, modern, compact, (101.6mm x 42mm x 122.5mm), and incredibly easy to set up and use. It’s very versatile; up to eight different devices can connect directly to it. It can be used with your phone, tablet, or your Fuji camera.

To set up the Instax Share printer, you’ll have to install the two CR2 lithium batteries and a photo cartridge. The cartridges fit in the back of the Instax Share printer by lining up the yellow marks. Once you close the printer, it will automatically eject the protective film cover. Press the power button and a row of green indicator lights will appear. The far-right will feature three green lights that show the battery’s strength. The other ten lights let you know how many prints are still in the cartridge, as you use them, you’ll have less green lights. Now you’re ready to connect to your devices.

If you’re using your Fuji camera, you’ll first have to go to your setup menu and select the Instax Printer connection setting. Next, you’ll need to enter the Instax SHARE printer name, which is the number found on the bottom of the unit, plus you’ll need to enter the password. Now you can transfer images from your camera’s Playback mode directly to the printer. The process was fast and easy!

Instax app

To connect the Instax Share printer to your phone or tablet, you’ll first need to download the Instax SHARE app through your App Store or Google Play. It’s a free app and compatible with most devices. Once the app is installed, you’ll need to go into your phone’s settings and connect with the Instax Wifi. Once that’s done, go to the Instax Share app and enter your password.

Now the fun begins. You can either take a photo or choose one from your photo gallery, Facebook, or even Instagram. Once you decide on your photo, you can simply press ‘connect and print’ and it will immediately print your image. It takes about two minutes for the photo images to show and about five minutes to completely develop, it’s well worth the short wait.

If you want to alter your photo, click on edit and make your changes. You can rotate the image, shrink or enlarge it, add a different filter, add a cool and colorful template, or a personal caption. There’s also a real-time option that will record the date, time, and temperature of your location. You can also reprint your photo as many times as you like by either going back to the app and tapping reprint or by pressing a small button on the side of the Instax printer. It has a power-saving mode, so it will automatically shut off to save your batteries. Wow, I’m so impressed with all the awesome features. You’re only limited by your imagination.

These photos are adorable. They’re about the size of a credit card but still capture the moment and deliver a punch of color. Some of these images were taken directly from my camera, others from my iPhone.

I snatched the photo’s above from Instagram and added a color template and caption. I’m unstoppable! Once you’re finished printing and turn the Instax Share printer off, it will automatically disconnect the Wifi connection.

I love the size of the Instax printer; it’s portable so you can tuck it in almost anything and take it anywhere you go. It’s ideal for home, parties, work, and great to take on vacations. It’s important to know that these photos need to be protected from light. Exposure to constant sunlight will cause the photo to fade. Temperature is a concern as well. The operating temperature is between +5°C to + 40°C (no condensation). Reflecting back to my parent’s instant camera, they left in their car overnight on a cool, wet evening, and the condensation made it inoperable.

I’m not that tech-savvy so I thought this device might be hard to set up and use, but not so. Fujifilm has made its products so user-friendly, that even kids and newbies to the tech scene can use them. I had so much fun using this darling little printer and printing off photos that mean a lot to me. It’s so simple and easy to use.

Getting together with loved ones will be more exciting as we print off the spur-of-the-moment photos. Photos make us laugh, bond people together, and freeze moments in time. I’m really looking forward to the holidays this year!

The Instax Share printer can be purchased almost everywhere. You can pick one up at most retail stores and on Amazon. They retail for approximately $200.
