Getting Ready For Holiday Baking Cookbooks

I love the holiday season and for us, it starts in October with Thanksgiving. The holiday season is filled with fun, food, festive parties and lots of get-togethers. And, we don’t want to miss any of the excitement. So planning our baking ahead of time is no only shrewd and sensible, it’s time-saving. There are copious recipes we can make ahead of time and freeze for that special occasion be it Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, or New Year’s.

I like to plan early, so every September I pull out my holiday and entertaining cookbooks to make some childhood and family favorite recipes and to also look for some new scrumptious treats to add to my menu. This year, I’ve included two new cookbooks that are filled with decadent treats fit for the holidays.

Naturally Sweet Baking

Naturally Sweet Baking Cookbook

If you are looking for healthier yet scrumptious recipes for the holidays, then you’ll love Naturally Sweet Baking. It’s filled with 70 delicious recipes made from the most natural, original and varied ingredients mother nature has to offer. All the recipes are low-sugar or have no sugar added at all. Plus, many of the recipes are also gluten-free and dairy-free — perfect for family members who have dietary restrictions.

The first that will capture your attention is the mouthwatering photos. Luscious and inviting recipes will inspire us to create foods our friends and family will enjoy. The onset of the book introduces you to the dietary symbols – gluten-free, vegan, lactose-free, lactose-free option, nut-free, no eggs and several others. The recipes are divided into categories if you will. These include Recipes for beginners, Finger foods, Afternoon treats, Quick and easy, Everday bliss, Generous baking goods, Traditions, Modern classics, Old classics and Special occasions.

Each recipe has been consciously created to use little or no sugar. Healthier options and natural sweeteners like honey or seasonal fruits and vegetables are used instead.

Some of the recipes are Apple Tart, Double Chocolate Muffins, Raspberry & Blackberry Cobbler, Black Current Spirals, Fig and Walnut Bars and Blueberry Naked Cake. This holiday season, embrace healthy and create tasty recipes that warm our heart and enrich our bodies. I adore this cookbook.

Keto Sweet Tooth Cookbook

Keto Sweet Tooth Cookbook

The Ketogenic diet is popular with many people and there are a plethora of cookbooks dedicated to this way of eating. I personally don’t follow this way of eating, but for those who do and want to make decadent treats for the holidays, the Keto Sweet Tooth Cookbook is for you. It’s filled with 80 low-carb dessert recipes that can be used for any festive celebration. This cookbook is divided into seven categories:

♥Getting Started,

♥Cakes, Cupcakes and Muffins,

♥Pudding and Custards,

♥Cookies, Blondies and Brownies,

♥Bars, Pies and Tarts

♥Confections and Fat Bombs

♥Frozen Desserts

Getting Started will share some of the essential ingredients (xanthan gum, guar gum, gelatin, agar-agar), tips, techniques, and useful equipment you’ll need to make the recipes. Plus, each recipe has a legend across the top that indicates if it’s nut-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, or egg-free.

Chapter 2 features fluffy cakes, rich and creamy cheesecakes, cupcakes, tiramisu, donuts and more. Some of the included recipes are Pumpkin Cheesecake, Pavlova, and Lemon Coconut Cake with Cream Cheese Icing. Chapter 3 features creamy puddings and rich custards from Crème Brûlée to Strawberry Cream Parfaits to Sticky Toffee Pudding. Chapter 4 will inspire you to create Brownies, Biscotti, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Snickerdoodles and more. Chapter 5 features decadent bars loaded with fruit, nuts and coconut. You can also make meringue pies, gooey Cinnamon Rolls, and Apple Crumble. Chapter 6 will satisfy your cravings for richer foods. Make Peanut Butter Cups, Peppermint Patties, Chocolate Fudge and more. Chapter 7 is all about frozen treats like shakes, smoothies, sorbet and much more. Mint Chocolate Shake, Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich are just two recipes you can enjoy making.

Both of these cookbooks will add variety to your family meals and an array of yummy and self-indulgent treats for the holiday season. They’d also make great Christmas gifts for the baker in your family.
