Kid’s Inspirational Reads
While we are aware of movies and video games influencing our kids, books can have an even bigger impact on them. Books can inspire, motivate, and encourage young aspirations. Books allow kids to dream, imagine and believe. They foster creative ideas, stimulate our senses and spark vivid imaginations. Books can also provide support and help kids open up and see the world from a different perspective. That’s why having a home library filled with inspirational reads is important for your children’s development. Adding a few new titles every month may invite them to crack open a cover and read. Here are a few new titles your kids may find interesting.

You Are A Beautiful Beginning is an inspirational read about self-love, friendship, and community. Often kids wish for things other people have, and this book helps put things into perspective. It’s not about having more or something different, it’s about appreciating and enjoying what you have. Each page is filled with colorful illustrations along with positive and meaningful quotes. “It’s not about being a hero, it’s about being part of a team. It’s not about wishing to be different, it is learning to love being you.” This book has a feel-good vibe and kids will be encouraged to embrace their unlimited potential.

If You Come to Earth is an engaging storybook about kids sharing unpretentious views and utter frankness about our planet to an alien visitor. Kids are brutally honest and don’t mix words, so visitors will the full scope of what it’s like living on this blue/green planet. Kids talk about the different places we live, different types of homes, families, expressions on our faces, types of clothing, types of vehicles, schools, hobbies, and landscapes. They share different foods, animals on land, and creatures in the sea. Music, games, sign language, colors, flowers and so much more. Importantly, kids are very attuned to the fact that we need to be kind to one another and take care of our beloved Earth. It’s a fun book filled with engaging images and facts about living on Earth.

A Thousand No’s is a cute book about one little girl’s perseverance. Kids do not like to hear the word NO! It hurts their feelings and may even annoy them. But when they ask the same again or a different one, and get the same NO response, it’s a double whammy. This little girl had an idea, and then another idea, and then a bigger idea, but was met with the constant rejection of NO! Each no was heavier and becoming a burden to deal with. But with each NO, she started contemplating what her idea would end up looking like. With each NO, her ideas would change and grow in a different direction. And after a 1000 NO’s her original ideal didn’t look anything like the end result! It’s a great book that will encourage kids to refine their ideas and stay determined.

Be Amazing will walk you through the history of the LGBTQ community. Some children are born one gender but have a strong sense of what their identity should be. As a result, we have a generation of transgender children trying to find their place in society. In the past, it was a difficult road to walk if you were transitioning or choosing to live your life opposite the gender they were given at birth. The brave paved the way for kids today so they can be free to be themselves.
