Klorane Mango Butter Hair Care

What one deems as vanity or being shallow, another simply considers it self-care. With today’s social expectations and influences,  peer pressures and everyday stressors for both men and women, there is very little we won’t do to look our best. We wax, tweeze, shave, exfoliate, tint, gloss, tan and brow map to name a few. We habitually do these in an effort to streamline our look. Our hair is no different. We are just as arrogant or assiduous about our lovely locks.

Our hair is one of the first things people notice about us and we strive to keep up with current trends. We bleach, dye, frost, weave, braid, tease and iron and this takes a toll on the health of our hair. Using quality hair care products like the Klorane brand can revitalize and restore our tresses back to health.

Klorane is no ordinary run of the mill beauty company. They are an eco-responsible brand that uses up to 96% natural ingredients in all their products. Based in France for the past 50 years, their passion is botany and their sole mission is to create innovative plant-based products. Their ingredients are harvested by hand while at the same time consciously respecting and preserving our planet.

Klorane Mango Butter Hair Care line

Klorane has a haircare line that’s infused with mango butter for dry hair and its scent is divine. Their mangos come from the heart of India where they are harvested by hand. This line includes four lush products, shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and a hair mask. Each of them is formulated to address dull, brittle, damaged, and unruly hair with cold-pressed mango kernels. The beneficial butter is ideal for frizzy, over-process, and unhealthy hair, which many of us find ourselves dealing with, and are eager to find a solution.

Shampoo with Mango Butter

The Mango Butter Shampoo has a rich creamy texture that smells great and feels nice on the scalp. It’s lightweight so it doesn’t weigh your hair down or leave you with an unattractive flaky build-up. You don’t have to use too much shampoo, about the size of a nickel or quarter reflective on the length of your hair, before it quickly lathers up and expunges any dirt, accumulated hair products, and natural oils. Your hair shaft is protected and you’re left with soft, supple, and shiny hair. Rinse well before continuing with the conditioner.

Nourishing Conditioner with Mango Butter

The Nourishing Conditioner has a thicker consistency, but it’s still lightweight enough not to affect your hair. It’s formulated for moisture-depleted and easily tangled hair. To use, apply a small amount to your hair length and ends and leave on for 2 to 3 minutes. Your hair will feel silky, soft and far more manageable. I’ve always had hair that is difficult to comb out. It usually takes me about 15 minutes with a pic, but using the Mango Butter has helped significantly.

Nourishing Leave-In Condition with Mango Butter

The Nourishing Leave-In Conditioner may make a lot of you nervous, at least I was. I haven’t had too much luck with leave-in conditioners because they leave your hair feeling gummy, greasy or gluey. Not so with this product. Even though the Mango Butter Leave-in Conditions is slightly creamy, it dissolves very quickly in your hand, so you are only applying more of a lightweight moisturizer. It acts as a protective layer but it will not weigh your hair down. Instead, it will leave your hair fluffier, soft, tamed and easier to style.

Nourishing Mask with Mango Butter

The Nourishing Mask is the thickest of the conditioners and is to be used as an intense treatment. It’s eight times more concentrated than their other conditioners so it goes deeper. It’s very nourishing and helps restore moisture to dry hair. To use, apply a modest amount to hair lengths and ends. Leave on for 5 minutes and then rinse well. If you’d like a deep treatment, apply the Mango Butter Mask, wrap your hair in a towel or shower cap, and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse well and style as usual. It’s suggested you use this product weekly, but if you have damaged hair, you can use it more frequently. I’ve used this product twice and left it on for 15 minutes each time. The result was that it left my hair feels so soft and luxurious.

The ingredients are not listed on the bottle, so I read each product’s composition kinda after the fact. Even though Klorane is Silicon and Paraben Free, which is great, I found that Propylene Glycol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Phenoxyethanol and Lauryl Betaine are just some of the harmful components used in their products. There are a lot of people who are not comfortable using any products that contain these toxic ingredients even with their high volume of natural ingredients. I hope they find a way to exchange them for safer ingredients in the near future.
