Living Libations Teeth Essentials

We faithfully go to our dentist every six months to get our teeth cleaned. We also get a thorough checkup and X-rays done yearly to make sure we have no tooth issues developing. Even with this commitment, every now and then we can still end up with a cavity or two. It’s commonplace to hear about fillings, tooth pain, gum disease, and other dental issues, but most of us don’t understand the consequences of a bad diet, poor hygiene, and so forth or how to deal with them effectively. It all starts with the basics and Living Libations has an 8 step rejuvenating oral care system that will give you the cleanest and happiest mouth ever.

Living Libations Successful Self-Dentistry Kit

Common oral issues most of us deal with are bleeding gums, receding gums, and halitosis. When I followed the 8 oral steps laid out by the Living Libations video, it was a very different experience and far cry from my typical brushing and flossing. Here’s what you need to have a healthy happy mouth.

Ionic Toothbrush

Although I’ve heard of ionic toothbrushes last year, it’s only this year that I thought I’d give one a try. I’ve been using an electric toothbrush for over five years and I thought they were the best at removing plaque. But as I’ve learned, the ionic toothbrush cleans differently from the standard manual or electric toothbrush which uses brushing and friction to remove food buildup and plaque. The ionic toothbrush – which is a manual brush – has an ionic charge that ionizes your saliva. It momentarily reverses the polarity of the tooth exterior from negative to positive, repelling plaque from the teeth and pulling it towards the negatively charged toothbrush head.

Compared to other toothbrushes, the Ionic Toothbrush is far more effective at cleaning and whitening teeth. It removes significantly more plaque, up to 48% more compared to our typical brushing. It’s great for overall use, but especially for those hard to reach areas and braces where plaque can easily build up.

So there are few things to know before you use your Iconic Toothbrush. There is a small titanium battery built into the handle, but you cannot access it or change it. So when it dies – approximately two years – would have to replace the whole ionic toothbrush. To use, you have to wet your palm or a few fingers with water and they must touch the metal part that wraps around the handle so it can create a closed circuit and release the ionic charge.

I enjoy using this brush but I found the bristles a little on the stiff side compared to the super soft toothbrush I’m currently using, but it’s not too harsh that it affected my gums. My teeth do feel smoother and silkier, and that’s a great feeling. I’ll have to see what my dental hygienist says at my next appointment.

Smart Floss

I’ve had a dilemma with dental floss for years. Most of the ones on the market fray or split so it can get caught between your teeth, which is why I switched to a water flosser. But, when I read about the Smart Floss, I felt compelled to try it. The Smart Floss has shown to remove up to 55% more plaque than regular flosses on the market. This floss and expand and stretch into those tiny hard to reach interdental spaces to clean better. It’s a hard-working floss that’s suitable for the whole family whether they have wider spaces, tight spaces, or braces.

So I know that sounds like a big claim – being called a high-performance floss – but my family and I put the floss through brutal tests and we’re impressed. Most of my family uses a water flosser because it will blast all foods from your teeth and gums. A few of them like to use floss as well. We used our water flosser or our store brand floss first and then followed it with the Smart Floss. I was absolutely shocked – surprised – aghast to see how much debris the Smart Floss still removed from between our teeth. Our previous methods did not do a great job and I found that really frustrating. No wonder there is an increase in cavities.

The Smart Floss is a lot thicker and stronger than the other brands I’ve used. Plus, it maintains its strength and shape and does not splay or split as much as other brands. I do prefer this brand. It’s recommended that you floss twice with the Smart Floss for best results. And it will remove more debris the second time around.

Happy Gums Clay Toothpaste

Talk to any dentist and they will tell you the benefits of fluoride in toothpaste. But, there is a lot of studies that show the damaging health effects of fluoride, from impaired thyroid function to lowered IQ to brain damage to hyperactivity to even cancer. Then there is baking soda with aluminum also in toothpaste. I personally choose a toothpaste that is void of both of these ingredients for health reasons and peace of mind.

I want a toothpaste with natural ingredients that not only cleans but helps restore dental health. Living Libations has a few different types of toothpaste to choose from – all are made from organic ingredients that removes plaque and the nasty bacteria that cause bad breath.

Unlike standard toothpaste which comes in a tube, this organic line comes in small glass jars. First, I have to say that I love that they used glass and not plastic. It’s said that even BPA plastics can leach into your food sources, so I always opt for glass when I can.

The Happy Gums Clay Toothpaste is a solid the supple paste that you apply to your toothbrush with the included spatula. You only need a small pearl amount on your toothbrush to clean your teeth. It has a slightly gritty texture but a very pleasant taste. I followed the suggestion on their video to brush my teeth from the gums to the end of the teeth and to brush slowly and very lightly. In fact, Living Libations says that our toothbrush should still look like new after six months of use. I blush to say what my current toothbrush looks like after 6 weeks. Anyway, it takes conscious effort to brush properly as we naturally want to brush sideways and every which way. It took a little longer, but the result was smooth sparkling clean teeth.

Happy Gum Drops Tooth Serum

The tooth serum has lots of wonderful antifungal and antibacterial oils – rose oil, seabuckthorn oil which helps regenerate your gum tissue, peppermint oil, tea tree oil, and sweet thyme oil. It’s suggested to add one drop to your toothpaste and brush away. Your teeth and mouth will feel vibrant and squeaky clean. I love how fresh my breath is and it stays that way for most of the day. We are now implementing this serum in our daily oral routine.

Intra-Oral Mirror with LED Light

The Intra-oral mirror comes with a bright – and I mean really bright LED light that allows you to see what’s going on inside your mouth and become familiar with all the contours and back molars. It’s a useful tool for noticing areas that need special attention. It comes with one AAA battery.

Our oral health is not something we should take lightly. If we use quality organic dental products and follow a healthy regime, we can avoid tooth decay, gum disease, receding gums, or worse. I’ve tried a lot of dental products on the market and I feel Living Libations has the best oral products that will help you restore, refresh, and retain optimal health in your mouth.
