I have what I call, a very clean diet, I eat copious amounts of raw fruits and veggies and lots of superfoods. I’ve been asked, what does “eating clean” mean? Is it a specific diet, a way of living, or just some catchy overused buzz word. It depends on your starting point. If you’re used to eating processed food, then substituting those foods for healthier choices is a start and optimal. What are some healthier choices? One of the best products to include in your diet is hemp. It’s deemed a supernatural superfood because of its incredible health benefits. There are several companies that sell hemp, but there is one company that stands out above the others, Manitoba Harvest.
Manitoba Harvest is proud to be the world’s largest hemp food producer to grow, make, and sell their own line of quality hemp products. They truly care about and learned how to make the best hemp products on the market. Every part of the hemp plant has a useful purpose, there is no waste. This is the reason I trust Manitoba Harvest and use their hemp products.
So what are some nutritional facts and awesome attributes these tiny but mighty seeds offer us? Hemp seeds contain all 10 essential amino acids, they deliver a mega-dose of omega 3 and omega 7 fats, contains GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) a potent anti-inflammatory fat, they’re packed with vitamins and minerals, and they are easy to digest. I got to try out their Organic Hemp Starter Pack and I’m totally in love with these products.
First, I just had to mention the cost of this organic starter pack, it’s the best I’ve seen. Other brands are quite a bit more expensive and don’t sell combined products for a budget-friendly family. This get’s two thumbs up from me and my whole family.
The hemp oil is cold-pressed and contains no preservatives or dyes. It’s a delicate green oil with a rich and delicious nutty flavor that can be added to many recipes. Although it’s not meant for cooking or frying with, it’s great in salad dressings, dips, and sauces. Drizzle a little on your pizza base before adding your sauce, it will add a wonderful richness to the flavor. I add a tablespoon to my smoothies every day and I really enjoy it.
The hemp seeds are so versatile, you can use them in any recipe, bake with them, fry them, saute them, or sprinkle them on your salad, smoothie, cereal, or even your desserts. The texture and lovely taste are so welcoming.
The vanilla hemp protein powder is creamy, dreamy, and so tasty. It offers the right nutritional needs, protein, fiber, and omegas, to keep us grooving throughout our day. This is another product I add to my smoothies, but you can use it in any recipe as well. One of the kiddo’s added a couple of scoops to their brownie recipe and they loved the results.
If you’re not sure how to incorporate these divine hemp products, check out Manitoba Harvest’s recipes and you’ll have an abundance of yummy choices. One of our favorites is the Spicy Hemp Hummus, it’s so appetizing and scrumptious that you’ll be compelled to make it every week for your family.
