Skechers Boots for Men
I don’t know what it is about men and winter gear, especially boots. They’ll trek through ankle-deep snow, or deeper, in their sneakers, or worse yet, their dress shoes, thinking they’re impervious to its damp effects. Seriously, what are they thinking? Nothing will get more use than a pair of boots during our frigid Canadian winters, so they might as well surrender and buy a pair that’s durable, reliable, and comfortable. Enter one of my favorite brands, Skechers.
Skechers is a name well recognized. Globally, they’ve won awards for creating superior footwear for all walks of lifestyle. They offer comfort, warmth and stability, combined with trend-savvy styles that will appeal to every family member. A lot of men don’t realize there are oodles of styles of boots with different attributes and specific functions, like tolerating sub-zero temperatures or using on a job site, so they may need our assistance.
I found the perfect pair for hubby who spends quite a bit of time in cold outdoor buildings, the Relaxed Fit Ruffneck – Akka Work Boot.
The Ruffnecks are a work boot with attitude. They’re made with Goodyear Welt construction, which means there’s no stitching or tacks on the inside to cause friction or irritation when wearing, bonus! They’re a relaxed fit with a wider toe area so there’s ample wiggle room for thick work socks.
They have uber comfy and cushiony memory foam insoles which mold nicely to your foot. They also have a shock absorbing midsole that handles and softens the blows from an average workday, so they’re comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Hubby couldn’t get over how comfortable they are, it’s the first time he’s worn a pair of boots that he didn’t have to break in.
Details:
- Electrical Hazard (EH) Safe design
- EH Safe rated ASTM F2412-2011
- Lug design sole for enhanced all-terrain traction
These mid-calf dudes were strutting their stuff for 10 hour days out in -5 C temps with no sign of foot fatigue or chills. Although they’re not a winter boot per se, with only a thin lining inside, they were still comfortable to wear in cool to cold temperatures. The 10-inch shaft was very appreciated, it not only keeps your ankles warm but prevents splashes from soaking your pant leg.
They have thick, heavy-duty slip and oil resistant nitrile rubber outer sole that is good on basically all surfaces. This proved true, they held steadfast on the ice and some greasy garage floors.
They boast a smooth oiled leather body, making them extremely durable and easy to maintain. They’re a slip-on boot, so no buckles, laces or ties to deal with, only dual side loops. The front toe is soft, there’s no steel for protection so this is something to consider if your working construction. They have a nice black or brown, rugged appearance that appeals to guys and could be worn as business or casual wear. The well made, sturdy and can tolerate a lot of wear and tear. They are definitely a winner in our home!
With the holiday season so close, buying the guys a gift of warmth, like a pair of Skechers boots, is a great idea. They probably won’t buy boots for themselves, so here’s your chance to do something nice for them. Swing by their site and check out their awesome selection of cozy footwear for ladies and kids too. HaPpY HoLiDaYs!
