Sweet Eats For All Cookbook

Holidays and special events are a perfect excuse for us to crank up our ovens and bake some of our family’s favorite treats, but not so much fun if any of them have a food intolerance. We have all genres of diets in our family, from meat eaters to raw vegans. We also have a few members that are sensitive to certain foods, so caution is required when creating a meal. It seems almost every family has someone who is intolerant to a specific food or foods. With this issue being so prevalent, chefs and bakers around the world have created some phenomenal allergy and/or gluten-free cookbooks so everyone can join in on all the delicious fun, no matter what the occasion.

With Valentine’s Day just a few short weeks away, I’m already thinking what yummy desserts I can create that are healthy, tasty, and gluten-free. Enter my new cookbook Sweet Eats for All!
Sweet Eats for All Recipe book

Sweet Eats is an all-embracing guide to creating allergy-free treats. It’s filled with 250 decadent and gluten-free, vegan recipes. The variety of recipes offered is fabulous, the author has really tried to cover all the normal favorites.

You start off with a quick lesson on how to use this book effectively. When you peruse through the recipes, you’ll see symbols on the upper right of the page. Each icon designates whether that specific recipe is soy free, nut free, corn free, and/or bean free. I love this feature, I can glance at a recipe quickly and discern if it’s appropriate for my families restrictions.

Chapter 1: Stocking a Sweet Pantry is so informative. It shares all the numerous healthy options and substitutes for sugars & sweeteners, flours & starches, fats, binders, and milks, creams & cheeses. It also goes into helpful kitchen tools and lots of tips and techniques so your scrumptious treats are a sweet success.

The rest of the book, Chapters 2 – 8, is where all the mouthwatering magic begins. Each chapter has an abundance of recipe options and each recipe is carefully created with nutritionally potent ingredients. There are definitely some unusual ingredients that the average home may not have, like xanthan gum, tapioca and other flours, and vegetable glycerin. I was able to find them quite easily actually, some grocery stores and most health food stores will carry these items. You also have the option of substituting some ingredients for those you have in your pantry. If substituting flours, match your flour weights.

It’s a little exciting to be able to submerge yourself into a recipe that everyone can enjoy. Usually, when we get a new cookbook, we dive right into the dessert chapter first. I was curious where the kiddo’s would naturally land in this all-inclusive sugar high book. It as no surprise to me that the first section they salivated over was the Captivating Cookies and Bars chapter. We are huge cookie fans and pretty much every recipe was tagged for production. We had a lot of fun creating some of the recipes together.

We loved the Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies. I did not have sorghum flour so I substituted it with oat flour and the cookies tasted like more. Kids are a good judge of flavors and they loved these. There are a few no-bake recipes, the Peanut Butter Chocolate No-Bake Cookies and the Cherry Coconut No-Bake Cookies, these are a must-have for any busy household. They were so easy for the kids to whip up and required very little time. Just combine the ingredients, drop them by the spoonful on your prepared tray and let set. These recipes are handy for last minute company or perfect for any get-togethers.

Next on our list are several of the tempting cake and frosting recipes. The book is peppered with vivid and succulent images that will inspire you to step outside your expertise. I like being able to see the end product before I attempt to create the recipe, and this book does not let you down.

So whether you have to alter your recipes due to allergies, or just want to make wiser food and ingredient choices, this heavenly sweet cookbook would make a great addition to your culinary collection. It will end up being your ‘go to’ recipe book when you need to indulge and satisfy your sweet cravings. This Valentine’s is going to be ambrosial!
