The Vegan Holiday Cookbook

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holiday season puts us in a festive mood and we’re eager to start our decadent baking. The aroma of ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon permeating through the home smells like Christmas. Most of us start our holiday baking in November so we have lots of yummy treats to feed our family, friends, and take to the festive parties and get-togethers.

Of course, we have our own traditional recipes that we make every year, but sometimes it refreshing to search out new flavors, new ideas, and new foods. I came across a new cookbook that offers some new and delicious recipes for the holiday season.

The Vegan Holiday Cookbook

From Elegant Appetizers to Festive Mains and Delicious Sweets

The Vegan Holiday Cookbook

As a vegan, it used to be challenging to find holiday recipes that didn’t sacrifice flavor, but this has changed. More and more vegan recipe books are surfacing to reflect the demand for animal-free options. Plus there are those embracing a healthier lifestyle or just searching for healthier options to make and serve during the holidays. The Vegan Holiday Cookbook addresses all these concerns and without forfeiting festive flavor.

The Vegan Holiday Cookbook contains 60 holiday-inspired recipes that will impress both vegans and non-vegans. The full-color bold and beautiful photos will capture your attention and trigger plans for your Christmas menu. The book starts off with recipe suggestions and how to adapt them for vegan gluten-intolerant readers. Then it breaks into four sections: Elegant Appetizers, Festive Party Dishes, A Feast of Sweets and Festive Cocktails, and Gourmet Gifts.

I’ve never been one for appetizers, mostly because they usually have some form of animal product involved. The appetizer recipes in The Vegan Holiday cookbook look so scrumptious and they’re cleverly comprised of vegan ingredients. The Potato and Vegan Cheese Tartes Fines would go down well with all members of my family. Each recipe also offers tips and variations so you can get it just right for you. Festive Party Dishes has lots of soups, main course, and side dish ideas. The Lentil Wellington looks warm and hearty. My favorite section, A Feast of Sweets offers cakes, cookies, and creamy desserts. The Snow White Layer Cake caught my attention, it’s so festive.

The last section Festive Cocktails and Gourmet Gifts shares a few jolly drinks and some flavored butter, salts, and sugar recipes that you can make and gift as gifts. It’s a well-rounded cookbook that offers lots of good ideas for a vegan holiday. It’s a perfect addition to my vegan cookbook collection.
