Updo Your Loo Plus Cariloha $100 GC

Tired of the way your bathroom is looking? Looking for ways to infuse some character and personality in this small space? I have three bathrooms and I really haven’t changed them too much since we built our home 18 years ago. They’re functional but lack any kind of charisma; they don’t feel like a tranquil space. I’m not looking to do a major overhaul, I’m just looking for some ways to revive my tired look.

There are lots of simple and inexpensive things we can implement and execute to freshen and update our obsolete bathroom look. Here are a few great ideas for those unmet potentials we eagerly desire for our bathrooms.

Color Me Happy!

Changing the color of your wall paint is one way to imbue some style and fresh life into a smaller space. Our color choices reflect our personality, and I always lean toward serene hues. I find that lighter and softer colors can make your space look bigger, brighter, and cleaner. You may also want to consider stripes or a color theme wall. It’s amazing the effect a color upgrade can have; it not only perks up your room’s look, but it can also elevate your mood.

Update Mirrors and Accessories

Bathroom mirrors do more than non-judgementally show your reflection and alarm you when you have something stuck in your teeth. They can play a huge role in designing your bathroom regardless of budget, style and size. A decade or two ago, plain mirrors with no character were a normal feature. I actually think it’s still popular today, but there are things we can do to personalize our mirrors. The good news is you don’t need to replace them, just add a decorative frame around them. Wood adds warmth, romance, and a cozy feeling to the room. Enhance your look further with matching sconce lights or a light bar. Or!

Or you may prefer to completely change the vibe of your bathroom by replacing your current mirror with wall-to-wall mirrors. They refract light, brighten and amplify your space and make a style statement that reflects your personality.

Spruce Up Your Vanity

A simple way to spruce up your vanity is to either paint it or restain it. I have gorgeous maple wood in my kitchen and bathrooms and I personally would not paint them. I have all my cabinets stained and this year I’m restaining them all in a different color. It requires more manpower than money, but in the end, I’ll have an updated look. I have also seen painted cabinets that are impressive. Talk about style standout! But, it’s a matter of personal choice.

New Towels and Textiles

If your towels are starting to feel a lot like sandpaper, then perhaps it’s time to change and update your bathroom linens. I only use Cariloha towels made from soft and plush bamboo. They carry bath sheets, towels, hand towels, and sets of towels and washcloths in seven different colors.

Until you’ve used Cariloha towels you don’t realize how rough other brands are on the skin. Cariloha towels are made from an eco-friendly bamboo viscose blend with Turkish combed cotton. The result is a luxuriously soft towel that is fluffy and soothing to the touch. Bamboo has antibacterial, antimicrobial, and anti-fungal qualities making it an ideal choice for bathrooms. It’s also anti-static, breathable, great for sensitive skin, and absorbent. Ever have towels that begin to shed and smell like your pets? All of Cariloh’s towels are snag and odor resistant with moisture-wicking properties.

The Bath Sheets are huge; they’re more like a superabsorbent blanket than a towel that envelops your body. Their extra-soft feature is due to their yarn loomed to 600 grams per square meter. Their handtowels and washcloths are equally as plush and feel so nice against your skin. They’re durable and wear very well with a busy family. I’ve been using Cariloha towels for several years now and they still maintain their plush softness and color.

Change Your Shower Curtain

Shower curtains have come a long way since I was a kid. They are no longer just water shields, they are also works of art. The colors, prints, patterns, and scenic designs available are staggering. You can find just about any color to compliment your bathroom theme. You can find animals, cities, contemporary art, landscapes, geometrics, florals, and even movie characters.

Replace Bathroom Mat

Bathroom mats are some of the easiest and most inexpensive items to replace in a bathroom. Bathmats endure a lot of traffic and can wear out quickly, so you have to know when it’s time to throw them out. Replacing your mats with high-quality replacements will mean they last a lot longer even with weekly washings. There is an abundance of color, prints, and textures available so you’re bound to find one that blends harmoniously with your bathroom decor.

These few steps along with some clever texture tweaking can turn your bathroom from a truck stop loo to a tranquil retreat.
