You Were Not Born To Suffer

If you correct your mind, the rest of your life will fall into place. Lao Tsu

Ever notice that lots of people seem to have a better life than you? They never seem to struggle with finances, relationships, healthy, weight, or depression. They never seem to hit rock bottom, so why have you? A new book to hit the market, You Were Not Born to Suffer: Love Yourself Back to Inner Peace, Health, Happiness, and Fulfillment, goes into the reasons why some of us are not living our best life.

You Were Not Born to Suffer

The author of this book was a drug addict hell-bent on self-destruction. He turned his life around, writes this bestseller, You Were Not Born To Suffer, and helps thousands worldwide with his insightful information.

Blake attended five different universities, enrolled in numerous professional training, and studied countless forms of alternative medicine, psychology, Chinese medicine, nutrition, herbal remedies, hypnosis, and meditation as well as studying with spiritual teachers and masters. Eventually, he discovered a self-healing approach that worked effectively addressing the root cause of his mental, emotional and physical pain. Bauer states, “It has been liberating for me and thousands of people like me to understand that underlying all addiction, depression, and illness there is simply unresolved mental and emotional pain – all of which is connected to that fact that we have never learned how to love and care for ourselves practically day-to-day.”

At the beginning of each chapter, you are encouraged to take a few deep breathes and be present are you read the material. The author dives into each subject with thought-provoking and timeless wisdom along with ‘Healing Yourself Now’ questions and exercises that allow us to digest the information on our terms. There’s also a list of several affirmations at the end of the chapter to select from.

I’ve always had a problem meditating and getting into the deep Delta state. I learned that it has a lot to do with our breath. Shallow breathers, those who breathe into our throat and upper chest, often have repressed, stored, and uncomfortable emotions deep within our body that we ultimately fear feeling. Through consciously focusing our attention on breathing slowly, deeply, and fully, specifically into our belly and then into our lungs, we allow the energy that’s become trapped to literally melt and drop, thus leaving us in a balanced and harmonious state.

I found the information so beneficial and life-altering. It not only focuses on our minds and spirit but includes our body and how to care for it as well. It inspires unconditional love, respect, acceptance, and forgiveness in the places often the hardest to embrace. The book outlines how to effectively direct thoughts, words, and actions toward creating the “best” in every aspect of one’s personal and professional life. “Considering the prevalence of addiction and depression, there is a huge need for simple, practical tools that empower people to understand and heal their mental and emotional struggles in the here and now.” I really enjoyed this book.
