Zen & Tranquility Coloring Books & Origami Kit
Trying to maintain a busy lifestyle at a hectic pace means we’ll burn out sooner than later. Juggling work, kids, appointments, schedules, chores, meal prep, and more can unhinge us and disrupt our groove and mood. It can be a challenge to find balance and harmony in our lives when we’re pulled in so many directions. But, an imbalance in our habits should not be taken lightly, they can cause illness and stress and can morph into more serious health conditions. We need to recognize the importance of unwinding, relaxing and going to our zen space for some tranquil me time. For many, they find peace in coloring.
Japanese Print Coloring Books
Adult coloring books have been around since the 1960s but really became popular around 2012 and trendier after 2015. The benefits of coloring are enormous. It releases stress, anxiety, improves sleep, cognition, fine motor skills, our focus and puts us in a meditative state where our body can recharge.

There are a plethora of coloring book subjects, so it’s a matter of finding one that resonates with you. I love the gracefulness and tranquility of Japanese prints. The Japanese Garden and Floating World coloring books feature images that reflect Japanese culture and lifestyle.
The Floating World coloring book includes 22 woodblock prints of people, landscapes, flora, and fauna, from the artform called Ukiyo-e genre, which thrived from the 17th through the 19th centuries. Each colorful print honors the artist with a write-up about his life and an explanation of the painting, including the date and censor seal. On one side you have a copy of the original print to use as a reference and on the other side, there is print for you to color and create your own masterpiece. The pages are perforated so you can remove your own color print or the original print and hang them in your home.
The Japanese Garden coloring book features 23 pieces of artwork from Lafcadio Hearn and other great haiku artists. The prints depict peaceful and serene images of parks, gardens and Mother Nature herself. Each print shares the name of the artist, an explanation of the print from the artist themselves and a copy for you to put colored pen to paper. This book also has perforated pages so you can remove your artwork or the original copy and display them in your home.
